The term cargo is also used for goods in the cold chain, because the perishable inventory switches to a final end use, even when held in a cold storage or similar climate controlled facility.
WHAT WE DO?
Multi-mode container units designed as reusable carriers to facilitate the transport of unit cargoes are also referred to as cargo, particularly by shipping lines and logistics operators. Similarly, the aircraft is documented as a cargo with the associated packing list of the items contained in the ULD boxes. When empty containers are shipped, if each unit is documented as a cargo and stored in products, the contents are called container cargo.
